Jesconiah Siahaan or Jesco as he is better known, is the co-founding as well as the managing partner of the firm. Prior to establishing Siahaan Gea, he experienced almost ten years of legal practice as a senior associate in dispute resolution practice group of a tier one as well as Indonesia’s largest law firm, Assegaf Hamzah & Partners member of Rajah & Tann Asia Network.

His practice focuses on providing legal advice and representation or assistance on a variety of contentious and non-contentious legal issues, particularly commercial disputes related to civil, insolvency, corporate, aviation, consumer, property and criminal law. Jesco is also a licensed bankruptcy receiver and administrator.

Jesco holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Indonesia and Master of Law Degree (LL.M) in International Economic and Business Law from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. He is fluent in Indonesian and English.

Successfully represented a state-owned mining company
against a ±USD 7 million civil claim related to mining concession
in the District Court and High Court level.
Successfully represented a state-owned mining company
against a state-administrative claim related to the company’s
mining permits.
Successfully represented a regional government-owned bank
against a civil claim filed by a customer related to the credit
facility, in the District Court level.
Successfully represented a syndication of offshores
creditors in a suspension of payment process of one of the largest
oil and gas drilling companies.
Successfully represented an Indonesian-flag air carrier
against a ±USD 300,000 civil claim filed by passengers, in the
District Court and High Court level.

Successfully represented telecommunications operator in
relation to a tort claim arising out of damage to fiber optic
cables.
Successfully defended a petrochemical foreign investment
company in the District Court level against a lawsuit filed by a
security service provider company for the allegation of
non-performance of the contract.
Advised a foreign civil aircraft manufacturer as regards
the legal implications of the crash of an aircraft in Indonesia.
Advised an Indonesian airline company as regards the legal
implications of the crash of a helicopter in Indonesia.
Successfully defended a US-based air navigation technology
company, as Third Defendant in a civil action related to the crash
of an aircraft in Indonesia.

Successfully defended a beverages company in the District
Court, High Court and Supreme Court against charges that they had
caused pollution and extracted water without a license.
Advised a state-owned airport operator as regards the legal
implications of the overrun accident of an aircraft during landing
process.
Advised several private companies in the process of
restructuring the board of directors
Successfully represented Mr. Ir. H. Joko Widodo and Mr. M.
Jusuf Kalla as the winner of national presidential election
2014-2019 in the tort claim filed to the district court related to
the result of the election.

Johanes Gea or you could also call him Jo, is the co-founding as well as the partner of the firm. Before establishing Siahaan Gea, he experienced almost ten years of legal practice as Public Defender at The Jakarta Legal Aid Institute subsequently as leading criminal lawyer in dispute resolution practice group of a premier as well as Indonesia`s largest law firm, Assegaf Hamzah & Partners member of Rajah & Tann Asia Network.

Since commencing his practice, Jo has naturally gravitated towards criminal law, area of the law in which he is passionate to defend legal right of victim, suspect/defendant in criminal proceedings as well as a convicted person in the judicial review phase. Additionally, Jo is also an experienced lawyer in handling a variety of contentious and non-contentious commercial disputes related to civil, bankruptcy and suspension of payment, corporate, shipping, family, employment, property, judicial review, administrative dispute.
